Li’l Farmers Farm school
About Our Programs
We offer parent-participation classes for children aged 0-7 that run between March-December, rain or shine. Our classes are structured into two-month Semesters that follow the seasonal ebb and flow of the Farm, and curriculum is thoughtfully curated around such. This provides your child with the unique opportunity to witness the cycles of growth, and inter-relationships of plants and animals on the farm.
L’il Farmers students will become familiar with our chickens, rooster, lambs, and alpacas, while also spending ample time digging in our garden beds and exploring our biodiverse food forest. We encourage parents and children to come dressed for the elements; however, we do have a warming area. Classes will be cancelled under extreme weather circumstances.
LI’l FARMERS SEASONAL SEMESTERS
Each Semester spans two months. Some semesters are 8 weeks; others are 6 weeks. All Li’l Farmer’s curriculum is seasonal and centers around what’s happening at Collinmore Farms.
Every class will focus on a seasonal activity on the farm; integrating books, songs, and sometimes crafts that help reinforce the day’s lesson. All classes within a Semester will follow a similar structure, but the theme of each day will vary. Both the Li’l Farmers Seedling (2-5 yrs) and Sprouts (5-7 yrs) programs require a full semester commitment (6 or 8 weeks).
March – April: Hatching at Collinmore Farms (8 weeks)
May – June: Planting at Collinmore Farms (8 weeks)
July – August: Full Bloom at Collinmore Farms (6 weeks)
September – October: Harvest at Collinmore Farms (8 weeks)
November – December: Hibernation & Holidays at Collinmore Farms (6 weeks)
January – February: No sessions.
