Kindergarten

Living Things Around Us

Students observe plants, animals, and insects while learning about their basic needs and habitats. Through exploration and sensory experiences, children discover how living things grow and change.

Activities may include:

Grade 1

Patterns and Cycles in Nature

Students explore seasonal changes, weather patterns, and life cycles found throughout the farm.

Grade 2

Deanne  

Deanne Collinson operates the farm, which has been in her family for 60 years. Tucked into Dilworth mountain, yet so close to downtown, it is an ideal gathering place.  Before taking over the farm, Deanne was an arts teacher for 20 years, in both SD 22 and SD 23.  She has a Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in Educational Leadership.  She loves children and learning and has long been planning this opportunity to combine her arts training with regenerative farming practices.  Her extensive background in drama/theatre and the arts underpins all activities created for children in our programs.
