Collinmore Farms is a small family-run teaching farm located in the Glenmore area of Kelowna. Created by former SD23 teacher Deanne Collinson and her partner Jack Morgadinho, the farm was created to foster connection between children, animals, food, and the land.
Currently, Collinmore Farm boasts 3 Alpacas, a flock of 10-20 Icelandic Sheep, 50+ chickens, and one Rooster named Jo-jo. Our facilities include: a lush grassy pasture, tiny house with a composting toilet for bathroom access, a large chicken coop, multiple pastures for our sheep, and a permaculture inspired food forest.
We believe the most meaningful lessons happen in nature: in the garden, the paddock, and out in the fresh air. Collinmore Farms exists to create those moments.

Meet Our Team
Deanne
Deanne Collinson operates the farm, which has been in her family for 60 years. Tucked into Dilworth mountain, yet so close to downtown, it is an ideal gathering place. Before taking over the farm, Deanne was an arts teacher for 20 years, in both SD 22 and SD 23. She has a Master’s Degree in Education, specializing in Educational Leadership. She loves children and learning and has long been planning this opportunity to combine her arts training with regenerative farming practices. Her extensive background in drama/theatre and the arts underpins all activities created for children in our programs.
Rayleigh
Since the age of eighteen, Rayleigh has been working with children in early learning environments & daycares, teaching dance, and coaching gymnastics. She has worked alongside children ranging from 3 months to 14 years old, and in doing so, developed a well-rounded and adaptable approach to care and education. Now a mother of two young children, Rayleigh feels deeply connected to the importance of hands-on, outdoor learning and the role it plays in early development. She is excited to be part of a program that brings learning back to its roots in such a beautiful and natural setting.
Mackenzie
Recently becoming a Mom, Mackenzie moved to the farm to be close to her Mom, Deanne. She couldn’t resist the opportunity to raise her kids surrounded by family, open pastures, and home-grown food. Mackenzie has a background teaching competitive dance and feels very comfortable educating through song, dance, and hands on experience. Mackenzie’s mission is to give her children a childhood full of hands in dirt, respect for animals, and an appreciation for the bounty of the Okanagan. Seeing her family flourish in a rural environment inspired the creation of the L’il Farmers program. She hopes children across the Okanagan can experience the riches of life on the farm, too!
Harvest - 8 Week Program (September 8-October 29)
This Semester, we base all activities around the harvest season. Li’l Farmers will explore the rhythms of the Farm through hands-on garden harvesting, tending to animals, and engaging in harvest inspired artwork, songs, and activities. Each week builds on the harvest theme with activities that connect children to where their food comes from, the changing seasons, and the joy of working with the land. Classes may also incorporate seasonal, holiday inspired curriculum.
Harvest at Collinmore Farms (8 classes)
Every class will focus on a seasonal activity on the farm; integrating books, songs, and sometimes crafts that help reinforce the day’s lesson. All classes within a Semester will follow a familiar structure, but the theme of each day will vary.
September 8 – October 29: Harvest at Collinmore Farms (8 weeks)
In this Semester, we base all activities around the harvest. L’il Farmers will partake in gathering mature crops, tending to animals, harvesting in our garden beds, and engaging in themed artwork, songs, and activities. Classes may also incorporate seasonal, holiday inspired curriculum.
At time of registration, you can choose which day you would like to sign-up for.

· Wednesdays 10:00-12:00 AM (one day/week)
· Thursdays 10:00-12:00 AM (one day/week)
Maximum 10 spots/class.

Hibernation & Holidays - 6 Week Program (November 3-December 10)
For our Winter Semester, Li’l Farmers will engage in activities that help prepare the Farm for a long Winter’s nap. Children will learn how to prepare fields, livestock, and plants in order to keep all farm life safe and secure during hibernation. Activities may include starting campfires, staying warm with our farm-grown herbal tea, and of course winter inspired artwork, songs, and activities. At Collinmore Farms, we celebrate Christmas; so towards the end of the Semester, activities will shift to celebrating the upcoming holidays.
